We first saw the Acura MDX in 2000, and we've seen a lot more of them on the roads around Chesapeake and Portsmouth, VA in the years since. It entered its third generation a few years ago, getting a mid-cycle update for the 2017 model year. This three-row Acura SUV gets better still when the 2017 Acura MDX Hybrid arrives at Hall Acura Virginia Beach in a few weeks.
There are a lot of things that make the 2017 Acura MDX Hybrid different from its gas-powered stablemate, and quite special in its own right:
Transmission: Instead of a CVT, you'll get a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. You'll still get the most fuel-efficient Acura SUV yet, just with a better ride quality.
Horsepower: There's also more power than before thanks to the rest of the powertrain. It consists of a V-6 engine and three electric motors, for a net output of 321 net horsepower and 289 lb.-ft. of torque (31 horsepower and 22 lb.-ft. of torque more than the 2017 Acura MDX SH-AWD).
Instant Torque: Even better, the torque goes to the wheels with practically zero lag.
Active Dampers: These give you a more comfortable ride and smoother handling, and they're exclusive to the Acura MDX Hybrid.
There's More: Among the many other changes, you'll find an electric servo brake system, drive mode selection via a four-mode Integrated Dynamics System, and an interior specific to the Hybrid.
This is more than just another luxury hybrid SUV; with its power and fuel efficiency, it's arguably the best yet from the Acura brand. It will be available at your Virginia Beach, VA Acura dealership very soon. To find out more, visit Hall Acura Virginia Beach at 3200 Virginia Beach Blvd. in Virginia Beach, VA today!
