The Acura NSX name isn't new to the company. The car debuted in the United States in 1990, quickly proving its worth; when people think of the best of what the Acura brand has to offer, that car remains top-of-mind. Three decades on, Acura is no longer a scrappy upstart; their cars earn respect and rave reviews. But the resurrection of the 2017 Acura NSX shows that the company still has something to prove to drivers around Portsmouth, VA and the world over. Hall Acura Virginia Beach has the details.

Several current Acura models were on display at the 2017 Chicago Motor Show. Among the six models shown were the 2017 Acura ILX, Acura MDX, and Acura RDX. However, all the talk has been about the Acura NSX. Part of that is because the company is giving the car a major push this year; all other models are getting only incremental changes for 2017 so that their halo car gets the spotlight to itself.

Even if they hadn't done that, the Acura NSX would still shine. Its hypercar looks are reinforced by the performance the car promises. It's a hybrid that uses three electric motors (one in the rear, and one on each of the front tires) in tandem with a V-6 engine. Net system power is 573 horsepower and 476 lb-ft of torque.

Where some performance cars are Spartan, sacrificing comfort for power, that's not the case here. A 7-inch screen gives access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Pandora internet radio, satellite radio, and navigation. The leather seats fit like a glove, while other features like the tilt/telescope steering wheel and the extensive use of carbon fiber are a reminder that this is a car designed to raise goosebumps.

The 2017 Acura NSX is proof that after all these years, Acura cars have matured without settling into complacency. To find out more about it, or any other new Acura cars, come to Hall Acura Virginia Beach. We serve Portsmouth, VA from our showroom at 3200 Virginia Beach Blvd. in Virginia Beach, VA.
